  • Jamestown Settlement

    The original settlement spot where the settlers lived and landed.
  • Mayflower Compact

    The first document of the Plymouth colony. Written by the Pilgrims seeking freedom from the persecution of King James form England.
  • Petition of Right

    A constitutional document that sets specific liberties that the king was unallowed to infringe with. The document included non-Parliamentary taxation, the use of martial law, and more.
  • Bill of Rights

    Bill of Rights
    The collective name for the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution. Ratified by the original 13 colonies.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Albany Plan of Union
    Proposed to bring the 13 colonies under one government. Initially suggested by Ben Franklin and a Pennsylvanian delegate.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    A way for the British Government to exact revenue from the American Colonies. Stamp Duties were imposed on newspapers and other legal and commercial documents.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A street fight occured when a mob of patriots began throwing sticks, snowballs, and rocks at Britist soldiers. This led to the death of many colonists.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    As a rebellion to the Tea Act of May 10th, 1773 the Boston Sons of Liberty disguised as Native Americans to destroy a shipment of tea by throwing it into the harbor. This eventually led to the American Revolution.
  • Intolerable Acts

    A series of laws passed by the British Parliament as a result of the Boston Tea Party. These acts took away many rights, causing an uprising in the 13 colonies.

  • American Revolution Begins

    The beginning of a war between the original 13 US Colonies and the British Parliament. The result of the war would end up leading to the independence of the 13 colonies to for the United States of America.

    A follow-up to the First Continental Congress. Intentions to figure out a way to declare independence from Britiain or to begin a war.
