So they traveled east to the city Kublai Khan's which is the capital of Kaifeng. Finally they returned to venice in 1269. Thats when they left marco with the Kublai's court. Marco became the favorite and was employed as a advisor and tax assessor. Marco then joined Ventetain forces fighting Genoa and was taken prisoner. For two years he was held captive. -

He belieaved that the riches of East Asia would be more easier to find, then sailing west. Next was England where he resided in Bristol for a while. And then he sailed and discovered the North American coast in 1497. He either was on Cape Breton Island or Newfoundlan. Next he'd sailed for America so he could explore. -

Then in 1578 he sailed to America with explorer Sir Humphrey Gilbert. Which was his half brother. 1585 was when he sponserd the first colony on Roanoke Island which is now North Carolina, but the colony failed.Walter was credited for bringing potatoes and tobacco back to Great Britian. He was a favorite of the queen. -

He also went to Mexico and the Isthmus of Panama on this three year tour. The description he gave of this tour was like the French King. In 1603 he explored the St. Lawrence River as far as the rapids at Lachine. He also explored New England's coast and Martha's Vineeyard. He then discoverd Mt. Desert Island and most of the large rivers in maine. -
Henry Hudson
More infoHenry was a English navigator and explorer. He was hired in 1607 by the English Muscovy Company to find the Northeast Passage to Asia. The first time he failed, but in 1608 he tried a different route. He even sailed through bad ice instead of turning around. He was the first European to enter the Hudson river which is his name by the way. This voyage gave the dutch their claim to the region. Finally his diseased crew mutinied and set Hudson with his son and seven men adrift in a small boat. -

Also he didnt grow up with his family, when he was eight he moved in with a man named Thyrker. Thyreker taught Leif everything he needed to know.
