The lockheed MQM-105 aquila was the first small battlefield drone devolped in the 1970's but was not tested until 1982 this drone had a laser designator that would lock on to targets providing locations of the enemy to the allies this drone was launched of a back of a truck and landed in a stretched out net. -

The MQ-1 predator was the next step in drone advanceents this drone not only had recon cameras and sensors but it was also able to carry missles and to lock onto targets this drone was very expensive costing the US army 40million a drone, the cost is very high but these drones have proven effective -

The Hermes was an isralli design and was only used as a recon drone but then further modifications led this drone to carrying guns although this drone was isralli that ended up selling drones to a mass of different countries. -

This drone was very small compared to a basic drone this is why the catorgarized the honeywell as a MAV or micro air vehicel instead if a UAV, this little drone was mainly used for recon it has no guns on it this drone was very handy and easy to use.
