Don is the oldest of his siblings. He has two sisters and one brother in his familly.

Father is alive, but does not play a key role in his taking care of his family.

In high School, Don played Basketball. He was not into education until his senior year when he took a Sociology class that he enjoyed.. which lead him on his path.

Don Earned a scholarship to play basketball at Truman state university. Which was how he payed for college, he majored in secondary education/sociology

Came to NIU as a chance advisor/ started the program sas/ director of retention program for 10 years.. founder of BMI.

Don founded Black Male Initiative to help african americans have success graduation from Northern Illinois University.

Still works with college students.. To give them the values to give back to the community. Set up groups of students to work cares day helping other organizations tackle goals,.
