    Inclusion criteria
    Never experienced dry needling or acupuncture before
    Over 18 years of age
    Non-smoker
    Palpable myofascial trigger point in the upper trapezius
    Exclusion Criteria
    Prior dry needling
    Pregnant
    Cardiac Pacemaker
    Immunosuppresive or anti-coagulation medication
    Muscle relaxors, analgesics, or anphetamines
    Systemic disease - autoimmune disorder
    Neurological or neuropsychiatric disorder
    Metabolic disorder
