Dmitry Sergeyevich Likhachov
He is the best known for fundamental works dedicated to the history of Russian literature and Russian culture.
Likhachev made a significant contribution to the study of ancient Russian literature and art.
He was born 28 November 1906 (O.S.15 November) in St. Petersburg. Likhachev said that he was born in an intelligent family. His father was a electrical engineer.
