    The presidential election of 2000, the nominees were George W. Bush and Al Gore. George W. Bush was the Republican nominee. Al Gore was the Democratic nominee. Bush barely beat Gore in the presidential election, it came down to the popular vote that decided who would win the election.This presidential election was four of five presidential elections that ended in the the winning candidate lost in the popular votes.
