Dights Falls was created in the 1840s by John Dight. John Dight used Dights Falls for his flour mill. John Dight created the first water powered flour mill.

The Dight family abandoned there Mill in 1864.

The mill was bought by a man named Edwin Trennery. He subdivided the grounds.

Flour millers Gillespie, Aitken and Scott bought the abandened Mill. They named their mill Yarra Falls Flour Mills.

After the mill was bought it was fixed and built up again. Then in 1891 in was sold.

In 1909 the mill was changed hands for the final time. Until finally the mill was destroyed in a fire. You can still see the ruins today,
