The history of events at Dights Falls.

John Dight of Campbell Town bought portion 88, County of Bourke, on 7 November 1838. After this he constructed a brick mill and began the production of flour. -
John Dight left his property to go to Port Phillip. -
John Dight's land is now shared with his son, Charles Hilton Dight. -
John Dight and the Dight family abandoned and stopped flour milling. The property was leased to Thomas Kenny afterwards. -
The Dight family sold the mill site to Edwin Trennery in 1878, before he divided up the land. -
A new mill was constructed in the same place as the old mill using the materials(bluestone) from Dight's old mill which was abandoned. Afterwards, more buildings and a new mill was constructed nearby. -
In 1890, the founding Act of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works was established.

The enterprise was abandoned and was sold to the Melbourne Flour Milling Company and they given a licence to construct a weir at Dights Falls to provide water for flour production. -
A new timber structure was built to provide water for the flour mill. -
The land changed owner(Messrs John Darling and Son, a well known flour miller)for the final time before being destroyed in a fire. -
After the fire, the first reconstruction occurred at Dights Falls. -
A weir was constructed with rock. -
Heavy rainfall destroyed the weir. -
The original timber piles were capped by concrete. -
Melbourne water built a fishway. -
A new fishway was built.
