    Went to Salem, where the meeting house the people accused of witchcraft were examined. Was a great assembly.

    George Burroughs, John Willard, John Proctor, Martha Carrier and George jacobs were excuted at Salem. Many people came to watch it occur.

    At Salem, Giles cory was pressed to death. He was sentenced because he stood mute.

    People were speaking about publishing some trials of the witches. There has been a plentiful rain blessed be God.

    Sam recites in Latin, Matthew 12 from the 6th to the end of the 12th verse. The 7th verse did awfully bring to mind the Salem tragedy.
