The Wisconsin Conservative Congress Committee reviewed the 2013 hunting map. They listened to waht locals had to comment and lowerd quotas in the northern regions. They hope this will add more oportunities and expand hunting areas. -
2013 Deer Season summary
2013 season statisticsThe committee determined that over 342,000 deer were harvested in the last hunting season. the cuts made in the northern regions could be reduced even more. The committee also wants to get elk from Kentucky to help row the Wisconsin population. -
More elk born in Wisocnsin
45 elk calves were born this spring and the plan to bring in more from Kentucky over three years continues. The committee also passed a ban on deer feding and baiting from September 1st till the end of the season to prevent the spread of disease and potential decrease in deer populations. -
Free antlerless tags availible
In 2015 the new antlerless tags will be specific for each unit unlike in 2014. This is to protect over harvesting in a given unit. -
