Carl Kinnenger held the patent on the snap tie design (to hold formwork together) and Dayton Sure-Grip & Shore was licensed to sell it in the U.S. The company would purchase material and provide it to Lang Tool to manufacture snap ties, shores and hangers. The company then sold the manufactured products.

Sure-Grip, Inc., a real estate holding company is established and purchases the property at 721 Richard St. in Miamisburg, OH. Corporate headquarters is relocated to this facility. This same year, Danis Construction begins construction on a second building at the Richard Street location. Vet Steel (out of Canada) loans Dayton Sure-Grip & Shore the tooling to manufacture snap ties.

Ralph Sullivan (nephew of Ray Sullivan) was hired (at Ray's persuasion) to head up the Birmingham, Alabama operations.

A number of presses were purchased from Gossinger Machine and DSG began manufacturing all items at the Richard Street location. All ties with Richmond were severed at this time.

A Folcroft operation was started and George Place was hired to run it. The operation was called Dayton Sure-Grip East.

The Miller Tool & Die Co. was purchased and Sheldon "Doc" Miller was hired as General Manager. He was terminated in 1973 though and Dave Bowling was named General Manger in 1974. The operation was clased in 1980 and merged into DSG.

50% ownership of Roberts Screw Products was purchased in Rushysylvania, Ohio.

The Hialeah Gardens operation was started and Frank Crews was transferred from Miamisburg and named Branch Manager.

Gerald Quinn founded Euclid Metal Products and was named Manager after DSG purchased. Operation was closed in 1977.

Operation began in Toledo, Ohio. Bill Sizemore was transferred from Miamisburg as Manager and continued in that position until operation was closed in 1978.

The assets of C&M Chemical Co. were purchased in Sycamore, Illinois. Bill Falls was hired as Branch Manager. Liquid chemicals used in treatment of concrete were manufactured and sold. This was DSG's first venture into chemicals. The operation relocated to Oregon, Illinois in 1978.

CCL Systems of Great Britain organized a 50/50 Joint Venture arrangement. The company was called Dayton Barsplice, and they sold a cold formed splice for joining reinforcing bars in concrete.

Schimpf held an MBA from Xavier University. He joined Danis Industries in 1971 as Vice President Personnel and Strategic Planning. He transferred to Dayton Sure-Grip & Shore in 1974, where he served as VP Sales and Marketing and Executive VP, before becoming President and CEO.
