Your caterpillars will arrive in a small cup with food in the bottom for them to eat. -
Day 3 - Growing caterpillar
As the caterpillar eats it gains nutrients and grows at a rapid pace -
Day 5 - J Hook
Once the caterpillar is full grown it will move up to the top of the cup. Here it hangs upside down, forms a hook in the shape of a J, sheds its last layer of skin and forms a chrysalis. -
Day 6 - Chrysalis
The caterpillar is now changing inside the chrysalis. When he emerges he will no longer be a caterpillar. -
Day 10 - Out comes a....BUTTERFLY!
The butterfly begins to come out of the chrysalis. -
Day 10 - Out comes a....BUTTERFLY!
The butterfly stays still and lets its wings dry. It takes several hours before it can fly. -
