    Charles witnesses the eruption of Mount Osomo while he is at the island of Chile. He also saw the earthquake remains.
  • Galapagos Islands

    The HMS Beagle arrives at the Galapagos Islands where Darwin studies the different species of plants, birds, and tortoises. Darwin noticed the similarities between the species here and of those on the mainland, as well as discovered that the "different specimens of birds" on the island were all finches, just with different beaks.
  • Sydney, Australia

    The variety of marsupials in Australia fascinate Charles, as he explores Sydney on the island continent.
  • Cocos AKA: Keeling Islands

    In the Cocos Islands Charles discovers and observes the various types of coral on the sea floor. He is entranced by their beauty.
  • Mauritius

    Darwin discovered that the coast in Mauritius was mainly covered in black lava, lacking in plant life.
  • Cape Town, South Africa

    Darwin observes that Table Mountain is about 3500 feet tall from sea level. He was shocked by the amount of bullock wagons in the area.
  • Bahia and Pernambuco, South America

    Charles returns to South America once again. However, this stop was not planned. Charles has become quite homesick and wishes to return to England, but the Beagle had to take a detour in order to take aditional longitudal measurements.
  • Falmouth England: The Return to England

    Charles was finally home.
