    Daniel Dennett was born March 28,1942 Boston, MA to his father of the same name, Daniel Dennett and Mother Ruth Leck. Part of his childhood was living in Lebanon since WW2 had happened and his father was a counter-intelligence officer until his death in 1947 dying from a plane crash over Ethiopia.

    Daniel Dennett began pursuing his Bachelor's in Philosophy in 1963 at Harvard University until he transferred to Oxford University to be a student of Willard Van Orman Quine, who was famous for his philosophy of mathematics and first order logic, where Dennett would continue until finally receiving his degree in 1965 and became a member of Hertford College.

    Influences and Books

    Daniel Dennett had a span of books that deal with the philosophy of mind like his works: Content and Consciousness, Intentional stance, Consciousness explained, and from Bacteria to Bach and Back: The Evolution of Minds. He has written around 400 books and received several Guggenheim Fellowships and a Fulbright Fellowship. His works also include him designing museum exhibits for the Museum of Science in Boston. One of his main influences are Richard Dawkins and Charles Darwin.

    Daniel Dennett continues to publish books and owns a house on an island in Massachusetts where he helps raise his grandchildren with his wife and daughter while he also continues research of philosophies of consciousness. He also spends time researching the human evolutionary process. He is also widely regarded as one of the "Four Horsemen of Atheism".
