  • Teach and explain expectations

    Present class rules to students and explain expectations, rewards, and consequences for not adhering to rules.
  • Re-teach and post rules and expectations.

    Re-teach rules and expectation. Post the rules and expectations on the wall where everyone can see them clearly. Post rewards and consequences next to them.
  • Acknowledge appropriate behavior

    Acknowledge appropriate behavior with positive reinforcement.
  • Correct minor offenses

    Correct minor offenses with a reminder about expectations and rules. Warn consequences.
  • Respond to minor offense

    Respond to a minor offense with reinforcement and modeling. Have student practice appropriate behavior in problem setting.
  • Acknowledge desirable behavior

    Acknowledge desirable behavior; provide positive reinforcement.
  • Redirect

    Redirect student in order to keep a problem from arising.
  • Respond to major offense

    Respond to a major offense by removing the student from the class and have student wait in the office.
  • Student conference

    Sit down with student and principal to discuss major offense. Discuss and clarify rules, expectations, right and wrong. Ask student for explanation; clarify rules again. Provide consequence.
  • Parent conference

    Parent conference to discuss major offense. Provide parents with copy of the rules and expectations, describe offense and steps taken to correct. Listen to parents concerns and ideas. Discuss, and agree upon, ideas on how to deal with behavior both in school and at home.
  • Respond to misbehavior, provide explanation and expectations

    Respond to misbehavior, provide explanation of misbehavior (i.e. why is was wrong, question student regarding choices), provide student with expectations and warn of consequences.
  • Acknowledge misbehavior and present consequence

    Respond to and correct misbehavior, explain and question right and wrong choices, and present consequence for not heading the previous warning.
  • Reteach rules and expectations

    Reteach and explain rules, expectations, rewards and consequences, as a refresher after Christmas break.

    Acknowledged and rewarded desirable behavior
  • Correct minor offense

    Correct minor offense, clarify rules, warn of consequence
  • Respond to minor offense, provide consequence

    Respond to minor offense, provide consequence for not correcting behavior from before.

    Acknowledge desirable behavior with positive reinforcement.
  • Acknowledge desirable behavior, reward student

    Acknowledge students hard work at presenting desirable behavior and following rules. Reward students effort.
  • Reteach and explain rules, expectations, rewards and consequences

    Reteach and explain after Spring break. Provide clarification and expectations for the rest of the school year.
  • Acknowledge desirable behavior, reward effort

    Acknowledge and reward student for desirable behavior and effort.
