Magna Carta

Jun 15, 1215

Magna Carta was a charter of liberties that had forced King John to give up his assent in June at Runnymede.

English petition of Rights

Jun 7, 1628

This was a stement of civil liberties that was sent by english parliament to Charles 1.The refusal was made by parliament to finance the king's foreign policy tha had caused the government to force loans and to reduce the troops in subject housing for economical purposes.

English Bill of Rights

Dec 16, 1689

The Bill of Rights created seperation of powers in the government. it limited power of the king and queen. it had made the democratic election better and it also sustained the freedom of speech.

French and Indian War

Period: Nov 1, 1753 to Oct 7, 1763

It was a war that had gone on between the french and their indian allies. The war was ended by the Teaty of Paris in 1763.

Sugar Act

Apr 5, 1764

The tax percentage was raised on Sugar on April 5, 1764.

Stamp Act

Mar 22, 1765

This act was a tax put on americans that had imported printed items like paper.

Townshend Act

Jun 15, 1767

The Townshend Acts were acts that were put on british parliament in 1767. They hadput duties on tea, paper, elad, etc.that were imported in to the colonies.

Boston Massacre

This incident was a fight that had happened between some patriot riots and british soldiers.

Boston Tea Party

Dec 16, 1773

The british had put taxes on imported tea and the seamen were upset, so they raided 3 ships and threw out all of the tea into the Boston Harbor.

Coercive Acts

Laws were written to punish the people for the boston tea party.

1st Continental Congress

This event was an event to petition the english government to ammend grievances.

2nd Continental Congress

May 5, 1775

This continental congress had been held to discuss the Ddecleration of Indipendence and the Articles of Confederation.

The pamphlet had spoken to the common people of America and it was the vry first work that openly asked for independence from Great Britian.

Shay's Rebellion

There was an uprising that was led by a former milita officer, Daniel Shays. The uprising had happened in western Massachusettes.
