Four dimensions of communicative competence are identified: Sociolinguistic competence, grammatical competence, discourse competence, strategic competence.

Organizational competence (grammar knowledge and textual knowledge)
Pragmatic competence (ilocutive knowledge and sociolinguistic knowledge). -
