1763- End of the French and Indian War
The French and Indian War ended with signing of the Treaty of Paris.
France lost all claims to Canada and Louisiana,and while Britian recieved Spanish Florida.
The treaty ensured the supremacy of Britian by removing French rivals -
The Royal Proclamation
The Royal Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George and it forbade colonist from settling along the appalachians.
Its purpose was to Great Britian's new empire to stabalize relations with Native Americans. -
Sugar Act
This simply raised revenue. This is to defray the expenses of defending, protecting, and securing the same. -
The Stamp Act
The Britian Parliament imposed a direct tax on the colonies that required printed materials to be used on stamped paper made in London.
These stamped papaers were used on every type of paper item including documents, books, and even playing cards. -
Quartering Act
This act stated that Great Britian can house its soldiers in American public places and houses.
The American people then had to clothe and feed the soldiers. -
Virginia Resolver - Patrick Henry
Were a series of resolutions passed by the Virginia House of burgesses response to the stamp act of 1765. The resolves claimed that accordance with long established British law, Virginia was subject to taxation only by parliamentary assembly to which Virginia had to elect. -
Stamp act congress
Was a meeting held between October 7 and 25 1765 in New York. It was the first gathering of elected representative to devise on unionized protest against new British taxes. -
Admiralty Courts
Set in place to resolve disputes among merchants and seamen. After the French and Indian War eleven of these courts existed in British America. -
Tea Act
