    Holy Three Kings/ Epiphany
    On the 6th of January, Christians are celebrating the discovery of Christ as God. They refer to a story in the bible, in which three kings were lead by a star to Jesus. These kings are holy in the Christian church. It's celebrated differently throughout Europe:
    Greece: they dive a cross into the water and jump in to get it out like in a competition.
    German: children are walking as the kings and blessing the different houses.
    France: there is a special cake eaten at this day ("Gallette des Rois")

    Mawlid is an Islamic holiday on the 14th of January (the 12 of Rabia al Awal). It's a reward to Mahomet, the prophet of the Islam. In the Islam there are big festivals and movements for him. It's only celebrated by Muslims.

This celebration is very important for Greeks, because Virgin Mary is greatly honored at the Orthodox church, as she gave people the opportunity to be cleaned from sin.     Greeks celebrate the day of No.– the refusal of Greece by Ioanni Metaxa in 1940 to accept the Italian ultimatum advanced by Benito Mussolini. Consequence of this refusal was the entrance of the country in World War II and the beginning of the Greek-Italian war of 1940.There is made an official celebration on full pomp and a large military and student parade.
