Patriots and Loyalists
Patriots ment that you where not loyal to the crown where as Loyalists where. Patriots such as John Adams found it is hard to win others to the cause of independence.Also some of the colonists where in the middle, with no strong fellings about the dispute with Britain. People did not want to chose sides becuse all they where hoping for was a peaceful resolution.
