1585: In 1585 Queen Elizabeth allowed Mr. Raleigh to send over 100 men to Roanoke Island after it was found to be perfect for settlement.

1587: In 1587 John White was put in charge to go to Roanoke after Simon Fernandez was fired. John White saw that the men that were under Fernandez had been killed by the Native Americans.

1607: In 1607 a group of 100 men landed on the banks of Virginia’s James River.

1609: In 1609 Captain John Smith went back to England and became very sick and stopped traveling around the world.

1613: Four years after John Smith became very sick he died in England.

1619: 1619 was a big year for Jamestown. This was the year that the House of Burgesses was established and also the year that the black workers were captured and called indentured servants.

1620: In 1620 the people on the Mayflower reached the new land and it was called the new colony.

1621: In 1621 the Pilgrims had a very good fall and their Governor wanted to have a celebration with the tribes. They wanted to share their harvest foods and this became a tradition in American call Thanksgiving.

1681: In 1681 the religion Quaker was not accepted even by the Puritans. King Charles gave the Quackers their own land southwest of New Jersey for religous freedom.

In 1733 Georgia was the last colony to join the Britsh colonies . King George II declared the colony of Georgia 1733.
