  • Treaty of Paris 1763

    Colonial mecrhants were required to pay a tax on the importation of foreign molasses.
  • Stamp Act

    British Parliament imposed a stamp duty on newspapers, legal, commercial documents. The colonies opposition resulted in the act's repeal in 1766. This helped with the movement against the British rule in the colonies.

    A political protest in Boston by the Sons of Liberty. The demonstraters disguised themselves as mohawk indians. They destroyed an entire shipment of tea from the East India Company.

    A series of laws passed by the British Parliament. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance of the Boston Tea Party.
