Jamestown
Jamestown was the first colony in The New World, it was established by the Virginia Company of London. It lasted as the capital of the colony from 1616 - 1699. -
Virginia House of bugesses
The governer George Yeardley arrived in Virginia and decided to get rid of martial laws and create a legislative assembly. It was made up of elected representitives from 1643 - 1776. -
Plymouth Rock
It was a colony first established by William Bradford and the pilgrams from the Mayflower ship. -
Mayflower Compact
This was the first governing document of Plymouth Colony. It was written by separatists also known as " Saints" fleeing from the religious persecution from King James of England. -

It had features of a written constitution, The orders describe the government of the Connecticut River Towns, setting it structures and powers. -
Bacon's Rebellion
This was an armed rebellion of the Virginia settelers led by Nathaniel Bacon against the rule of governer William Berkeley.It was the first rebellion in the colonies. -
The Glorious Revolution
This revolutiion was to overthrow King James II of England by an union of English Parliamentarians and a Dutch fleet, It was a succussful invasion which led to King William III of England. -
The Toleration Act
The Act allowed freedom of worship to Nonconformist who had pleged to the oaths of Alliance and Supremacy. -
English Bill of Rights
This was a bill to have the enlish parliaments and the King to become joint soveriegns of England. It took away the powers of the crown and to set out rights of parliament and freedom of speech. -

This was a series of hearings and persecutions of people thought of using witchcraft in colonial massachusetts. -

He was a German American publisher, editor, and printer for New York City, He was the defendent of a landmark legal case in american jurisprudence also known as " The Zenger Trial." -
French and Indian War
Also known as the " Seven Years War", it was mostly fought by British America and New France. Both countries was supported by it home or mother country.The war turned into a world-wide conflict. -
Proclamation of 1763
This was put in place after the French and Indian War by King George II. It stated that the settlers was not allowed to settle anywhere past the Appalachian Mountains. -

Declatory Act
This was an act that was put in place by the Parliament of Great Britian. It accompied the repeal of the Stamp Act of 1765. -
Boston Massacre
The british army shot and killed 5 male civilians and injured 6 others. The british army was there since 1768 protecting and serving appointed colonial officials. -
Tea Act
The act was made to reduce the massive productiion of tea from the troubled British East India Company. So this act made the colonist buy the London company's tea so the company could survive. -
Boston Tea Party
This was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston. The men involved was disguished as american indianas and they destroyed the whole supply of tea sent in by the East India Company. -
1st Continental Congress
This was a convention for delegates from twelve conlones except Georgia. It was held at he Carpenter's Hall in Philedelphia, PA. The convention was held becasue of the passing of the Intolerable Acts by the British Parliament. -
2nd Continental Congress
This was a convention for delegates from 13 colonies. This congress managed the colonial war efforts. They also pushed for independence which they succeded in getting on July 4th, 1776 with the Declaration of Independence. -
Declaration of Independence
This was a statement adopted by the continental congress that announced that the 13 american colonies was going to become free states from the British Empire. -

This was a treaty signed by Great Britian and The United States to end the American Revolutionary.
