As the Allies take victory in the Battle of the Bulge they raced to Berlin, Germany. There they come to find Hitler dead (suicide) and Germany surrender ending the war in Europe. -
World War II is over!
Germany has surrender and war is over in Europe, but World War II continues in the Pacific. Fighting Japan would be too much loss for the Allies, as a result the allies turned to the new weapon, Atomic Bombs. One atomic bomb was dropped in the japanese city of Hiroshima and another in Nagasaki. about tens of thousands people died and till then Japan surrendered. -

In the year, 1947, USA decides to bring help with the Marshall Plan and The Truman Doctrine. The Marshall Plan gave fiancial aid to Europe and was a way to help stop the spread of commiunsm that the Soviet Union influenced. The Truman Doctrine was a policy in which stop the Soviet Union from expanding. -

The Berlin Blockage occured when the Soviet Union blocked all ways into Berlin, Germany. USA and Great Britain acted by sending supplies to the city of Berlin through air force. -

Korea was a a two separate halves by South and North Korea. There was much rivalry between the South and North since in South Korea was helped by USA and North Korea was under a communist government. They endured a war of about three years that caused 4 million deaths and with Korea turing into one nation under a communist gvernment. -

South Vietnam was supported by the USA due ti the risk that the South of Vietnam had of falling over the control of the Communist North Vietnam. So a alliance was suggested by President Dwight D. Eisenhowery and was made a reality by Secretary of State John Foster Dulles. The alliance was called Southeast Asia Treaty Organization . The organization purpose was to the signed countries to help in a event of any communist act over any Asian Southeast countries. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
Russian politican, Khrushchev agreed to help Cuban government to supply nuclear missiles in order to protect Cuba from another American invasion. When USA send spy planes over Cuba they saw missiles sites under construction. Therefore it rose tension being that Cuba was couple miles away from American territory. Later after many words back and forth it was seen how easily the situation could get worse. Khrushchev decided to remove the missiles out and the Limited Nuclear Test Ban formed. -
President Ronald Regan takes a drastic change
In the 1980s, Ronald Regan was convinced of a missile defense system and took a very offsensive stand against the Soviet Union. Though he was able to low the tension between the Soviet Union with the agreement called Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces.
