    Russia responded to the unification of France, UK, and US by cutting off Berlin's road, and rail links in to that sector causing all persons living in western Berlin having no access to food causing starvation. The US, and UK via aircraft brought food and supplies to western Berlin this was known as the Berlin Airlift.

  • Hungarian Revolution

    Hungarian Revolution
    A Hungarian protest against Communist rule in Budapest. Power quickly was gathered then Soviet tanks entering Budapest on the following day Aug 24th, then withdrawing on Aug 28th.A new government came and swept the nation introducing democracy, freedoms for speech, and religion. Soviet tanks returned on 4th November encircling Budapest. The Prime Minister Imre Nagy made a World broadcast that Hungary was under attack from the Soviet Union and calling for aid, but in the end fell to Russia
