Bikini Atoll nuclear tests.
These were a series of nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll, was known as operation crossroads. This was conducted by the U.S. This was their first nuclear test since the droppings of Hiroshima, and Nagasaki Japan to conclude WWII. -

Marshall Plan
A program of economic aid offered by the United States to any European country. The plan was rejected by Stalin and any Eastern Bloc country considering accepting aid was reprimanded severely. The aid was then only given to Western European countries. -
Brussels Pact
Great Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg signed this treaty to protect Europe from communism. The pact stated this if any of the countries were attacked or influenced by communism, the other countries would bound to help defend it. -
The Berlin Blockade
This lasted 11 months. Known as Russia’s response to the merger of the French, USA, and UK partitions of Berlin was to cut all roads and rails that link to that sector. Meaning that those living in Western Berlin had no access to food supplies. Resources were brought. -

Founding of The North Atlantic Treaty Organization
The NATO was founded by the United States, Canada, and the Western European Countries to provide selective security against the Soviet Union. Events such as the Berlin Blockade caused the organization because there needed to be safety for Western European countries if the Soviet union were to quarrel once more. -
Russia tested its first atomic bomb
Russia tested its first atomic bomb at a test site in Semipalatinsk Kazakhstan. The code name for was known as RDS-1. The device had a yield of 22 kilotons. The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings are what caused Joseph Stalin to have his country build, and test one.
