    The Yalta conference is when President D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin made importnt decisions in a Russian Resort town in Crimea. They discussed anout the progress of war and the postwar world.

    Many people believe that the Atomic Bomb ended World War II while other believe that the Atomic Bomb started the Cold War. U.S.A. used the Atomic Bomb because the war in Japan did not stop even after Germany had been defeated.

    North Korea Army crossed the 38th parellel with more than 75,000 soldiers. This was one of the first military action of the cold war. American officials felt like it was a war against communism itslef.

    Britain used much of Iranian oil during WW II so when Iranian leader decided he wante to nationalize the oil production Britain didnt like it that much so they wanted to do something about it . Britain halted the oil production so there could be anegative impact in Iran's economy, then Britain was planning to go against Iran in a war but saw that Iran could easiy beat them so Britain decided to inact a new Government,

    In April 25th the U.S. army officers tried to do a coup but failed which caused the Dominican Republic to fall in a Civil War. President Johnson then sent 38,000 troops to establish order which they did but there were objections from both domestic and the Organization of American States.

    President Nixon went to visit China for the first time because he wanted to improve relations with a communist country.He met with Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai, they established cultural contacts between the countries.

    North Vietnmese trrops attcked South Vietnam were they fought very little and did not resist at all. In that time President Nixon had resigned and the Vice President could not covince the hostile congress to continue with Nixons promise.
