    Stalin broke the earlier promises he made at Yalta (Feb 1945). He promised free elections in Eastern European countries. Instead Stalin bloked the elections and imposed communism. Churchill announced “An iron curtain has descended across Europe.”

    In 1961 begins the Soviet Union with constructing the Berlin Wall. Kennedy and the Premiere of the Soviet Union involve the world in the cuban missles crisis in 1962. Kennedy got shot and killed in 1963.

    The Soviet Union collapses in 1991. In the same year Russia elects Boris Yeltsin to lead new democracy.
