    Winston Churchill
    Winston Churchill was appointed as the Prime Minister in 1940. He became the leader of the opposition in march of `46. While Winston was leading the conservitive party, he suffered from his first stroke. This was not announced to the public until after his death. He passed away on january 24th 1965.

    Joseph Stalin was a leader through out this time period. He had his troops in eastern europe. This made him an important part of negotiation. He also fought agianst both germany and japan. He forced the japanese to surrender.
  • The Iron Curtian Speech

    This speech was said to have drawn the lines for war. This speech was also believed to tear apart the policies of the Soviet Union. This explained that it made an iron curtain fall over the continent. It brought Prime Minister Churchill and President Truman closer together.

    The Truman Doctrine was created on march 12th 1947. This was created in order to free people. It was also created to help the lesser countries stay free from higher powers. This was also created to help aid the military in Greece.

    The Brussels Pact was created to keep Europe from communism. This pact made it obvious that the USSR did pose a threat to Europe. The pact also helped to change the hostile enviroments going on. It changed how Europe would be effected by all of communism.

    Stalin and the USSR felt that they needed to put an end to the growth of West Germany. In order to achieve this, they completely cut off this section of Germany. They felt that this would halt the progress of west Germany. By doing this it would form a new negotiation and ratify the land.

    The Berlin Airlift was caused by the Berlin Blockaid. The Airlift was an attempt to help the areas affected by the blockaid. This was when planes brought in supplies to keep west Germany alive and well. This was also in order to keep it thriving.

    In 1949 N.A.T.O. was formed. This stands for the north atlantic alliance treaty organization. This group was created to help gain peace. This was also another chance to form negotiations.

    In 1949 The Soviets descided to test their first attomic bomb. This was because they learned of America`s progress on attomic weapons. It because of spies that the Soviets learned of American plans. However it was because of those spies that the Soviets gained the ability to use attomic bombs to their advantage.

    On january 30th President Truman made a descision that would forever change the U.S. This descision was to build the H-Bomb. This descision came after word of the Soviet Union testing their attomic bomb. This Bomb was a hydrogen bomb that would be a new and more powerful version of what the Soviets had created.
