    This time was crucial part in the question of government and the churches involvement. Martin Luther demanded the church be reformed because he believed it was corrupt and strayed from its true purpose. Contributions to Classical Liberalism
    -Less ties to the church and ideas of self-interest were presented
    -People were considered capable of making decision without the churches involvement
    -Power of the people grew

    -People had "voices" in the government and everyone opinion was taken in to consideration
  • American Revolution

    Settlers were sick of the monopoly and high tariffs on imported goods, so they broke away and began a war with Great Britain starting with the Boston tea party. Contributions to Classical Liberalism
    -Symbolized insurance of self-interest and freedom of men.
    -Established that all men are created equal with inalienable rights.
    -Established the declaration of independence which would become part of the constitution.

    Was split into the pyramid system with most of the population having little to no power. France's financial crisis at the time led to to revolution because of the kings absurd spending habits, and aid in the american revolution. Contributions to Classical Liberalism.

    -Presented that government should protect Individual rights, not infringe on them.

    -People trusted in logic/science rather than faith.

    mass amounts amounts of people moved away from farming to urban areas to work in factories. People no longer were controlled by monarchy and innovation was on the rise. Contributions to Classical Liberalism
    -Private property, Individual freedom, and self-interest began emerging due to wealthy middle class.
    -People were allowed to own private property
    -Economic freedom for merchants
    -Self-Interest and competition began and people started taking risks to improve wealth.
