In 1862 Georgia helped form the confederate states of America Fort Pulaski occupied by confederate forces. In 1862 the battle of fort Antietam retaken by union forces. -
Gettysburg
The Union won. The town surrender on July 4, 1863, after being 6 weeks bombed by cannon fire. This important victory gave the union control of the Mississippi River. -
Ku Klux Klan
The Ku Klux Klan known as the KKK started in Tennessee of 1866. The KKK was made because they (they are known as white men) were made with their failures of political in 1867. The KKK was known for killing and torturing African-Americans and in force the black code.
