    First ever Martin Luther King day was celebrated in the honor of him, for his dedication to his work for the country and his people without using any violence. He suffered a lot for the service he provided for the country but he still didnt back down. He kept fighting due to which he was assasinated in 1968, and so in 1986 President Reagan signed the Martin Luther King jr. day which would be celebrated on the 3rd monday of January every year.
