    On the 26th of April 1986 the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant core melted down releasing 100 times the amount of radiation as the Nagasaki bombing and Hiroshima bombing together. The Chernobyl disaster was one of the worst nuclear disaters in history.

    Childrens toys and gas masks ly scattered in a kindergarten classroom in Pripyat, Ukraine. The abandoned town sits two miles away from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. 50,000 Pripyat residents were evacuated after the accident.The town has not been repopulated.
