CHEMISTRY TIMELINE

  • Alchemist

These are some of the first chemist and they tried to turn lead to gold but they didn't succeed.
  • Kelvin

Absolute temperatures are stated in units of kelvin in his honour. While the existence of a lower limit to temperature (absolute zero) was known prior to his work, Lord Kelvin is widely known for determining its correct value as approximately −273.15 degree Celsius or −459.67 degree Fahrenheit.
  • Goodyear

Charles Goodyear discovered the vulcanization of rubber
and is also the reasoning of the name Goodyear tires. vulcanization is the process of making the raw material elastic and or stable.
  • Radioactivity

radioactivity plays a part in many electrical activities that go on today. such as X rays. this was founded by Henry Becquerel. radioactivity is used in nuclear reactors, the study of plants and animals and in power plants.
  • Penicillin

Penicillin was discovered by Alexander Flemming. This is a cure to infection invented during the flu epidemic as a cure. Penicillin saved many lives.
