Che Guevara was born June 14, 1928,Rosario, Argentina. His real name is Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.

In 1947 Che went to Buenos Aires to take care of his grandmother. Shortly after she died. He went to medical school. Some people believe that he went into medicine because of his inability to help his grandmother.

In 1951 Che traveled to South America when he was 23. This trip expanded his communist political mentality. Ernesto was outraged when he witnessed the mistreatment of the impoverished in South America. The most impactful example occurred in the Anaconda’s Chuquicamata Copper Mine. This was the world’s largest copper mine and the source of Chile’s wealth(II).

In 1952 his journey becomes famous. His diary became a best-selling book. It also became a movie in 2004 (¨Motorcycle Diaries¨)

In 1953 he graduated as a doctor. Guevara submitted a thesis on allergies, passed his qualifying medical examinations, and was awarded his medical degree in the spring of 1953. But the young doctor's focus had been changed by his first-hand experience with the abysmal social conditions in South America.

In 1954 he met Cuban revolutionary, Fidel Castro, and his brother, Raul. He was 26 when he met them. He met them in mexico.

In 1955 December 2 The "Granma" reaches a beach called Las Coloradas in Cuba's Oriente province. The rebels are attacked by Batista's troops and must disperse into the woods. Many men are killed, and Guevara is wounded.

When Castro took power in 1959, Guevara became in charge of La Cabaña Fortress prison. It is estimated that in between 156-550 people were executed. He did this illegally.

In 1966 he tried to convince the people of Bolivia to rebel against their government. He had little success with that. So with little support he got captured.

He died on October 9, 1967. He was captured by a Bolivian army, and killed. He was only killed because he didn't have very much support.
