    Because of Che's military ability, he was promoted to the rank of Commander. In December of 1958, he lead the rebel army to a win over Batista's forces at Santa Clara.

    Che directed his suicide squad against Santa Clara. The attack led to a capture of the city. Within 12 hours of the attack Che's squad had victory over Santa Clara.

    Che lead an international mission to the Congo to support the liberation movement. Fidel Castro read Che's farewell letter to the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party. Recently after, Che returned to Cuba for a secrete mission to Bolivia.

    Guevara made what turned out to be his last public appearance on the international stage when he delivered a speech at an economic seminar on Afro-Asian solidarity. He specified the moral duty of the socialist countries, accusing them of complicity with the exploiting Western countries.
