Survey Voyage
Darwin embarked on a five-year survey voyage around the world the HMS Beagle; his studies of specimens led him to formulate his theories. Also got the opportunity to closely observe principles of botany, geology and zoology. -
Began writting Journal of Researches
After returning to England, Darwin began to write "Journal of Researches". The trip had a monumental effect on Darwin's view of natural history. He began to develop a revolutionary theory about the origin of living beings. -

Published "On the Origin of Species"
Darwin's theory of evolution declared that species survived through a process called natural selection. Natural selection is one of the basic mechanisms of evolution, along with mutation, migration and genetic drift. If an ecosystem of beetles are born either brown or green and birds keep eating all the green ones. Than through natural selection all the green will be killed off leaving the brown to reproduce.
