    The Descent of Man Published
"The Descent of Man" was written by Darwin because he could not avoid the belief that man’s natural selection is like that of the animal kingdom. He originally procrastinated publishing the book but did not want to be accused of concealing his views. Darwin further explains his theory of natural selection, and fully explains sexual selection, which is a topic that interested Darwin. A second version of "The Descent of Man" was published in 1874 and contained several corrections.
