Galapagos islands is where the beagle lands and Darwin becomes intreagued in that the local Finch population had different beak shapes for specific foods, directly related to the island that species of Finch was on. Charles Darwin publishes "Origins"
After many years of gathering specimens, Darwin finally published "The Origin of species". This going against his past beliefs that God created all. The book shocked the scientific community as it outlined that species naturally evolve in order to improve the chances of that species survival. Different from evolution in a sense as he did not reference this until later. The book was evolution by natural selection.
