    Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England
  • Discovery of natural selection

    Darwin took the specimens and data he collected on a trip to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and other islands and began experimenting. This is when he came across the discovery, he is most known for of natural selection and evolution
  • Published On the Origin of Species

    Darwin proceeded to take his discoveries and post them in On the Origin of Species. The brook brought along many new ideas some were skeptical of. It also brought along the idea that the world was much older than anticipated.
  • The Descent of Man

    Darwin introduced the idea of "sexual selection". This brought along the perception of males being territorial over female species and how this showed in nature. It began to show connections between humans and animals and expanded the idea of evolution.
  • Insectivorous Plants

    Darwin released Insectivorous Plants, where he applied different substances to plants to study their sensations. This study was accidental but slowly turned into a very big project for him.
  • Death

    Charles Darwin passed away at the age of 73.
