    Charles Darwin 1809-1882

Charles Darwin would be born in England. He was given the best education that could be given to him. He was still a mediocre student at best. His early life was filled with being unaccepted because of his interest in "radical" sciences. After schooling, Darwin would begin adventuring and set his path to becoming a household name and famous scientist. Desmond, Adrian "Charles Darwin", https://www.britannica.com, 13 Sep 2019
  • The Beagle Voyage

At the young age of 22, Charles would set sail around the world. This voyage would go to South America and its' surrounding islands. On this trip he would explore new lands and observe his surroundings. Darwin compiled many notebooks filled with his research data. He would eventually call this trip "by far the most important event in my life". He would use his new findings to influence his naturalist position and launch his career.
  • Issues With Evolution

Much of England was still very religious and his work was scrutinized by the church. Charles Darwin would have the public think about the power the church had over everything. As Darwin would begin to have conflicting ideas with the supernatural beliefs of the church. Darwin would infer that animals did not have a specific design because of the way they were made, but because of how they adapted to their surroundings and environment. • The Theory of Evolution

Using his findings from his trip to South America (more specifically the finch in the Galapagos Islands) Darwin would compile a theory that there was no specific design for creatures. They evolved into what they were over millions of years. He would write a book called "The Origin of Species" that would become a smash hit in scientific communities throughout the world. • Natural Selection

A series of novels would relay his life's work to his followers. Darwin titles the series "Natural Selection", it took him years to finish his findings. His evolutionary theory would conclude that humans evolved from apes to cavemen to humans. This theory was specifically avoided because of the tension it would once again cause with the church. Evolution would become the new scientific pretense for the existence of life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfsUz2O2jww
  • The End of an Icon

Charles Darwin was not immortal. His health began declining in the 1860's. Even having a stretch of 27 days where he consistently vomited. Towards his decline, Darwin would begin another famous work of cross pollination and would determine that similar species have different genetic compositions and give differing genetic traits. Later, Darwin was diagnosed with angina then had a seizure that would leave him bedridden the months prior to his death.
