Sugar Act

Sons of Liberty

This was created by John Hancock and Samuel Adams. Sources state that theSons of Liberty, were most likely the colonists who planned the Boston Tea Party. This was formed in Boston and was to protect the rights of the colonists.

Townshend Act

This was formed by The Patliament of Great Britain and named after Charles Townshend. It put taxes on glass, lead, paper, paint, and tea. This was formed in Great Britain and allowed tax collectors to searech for smuggled goods.

Boston Massacre

Mar 5, 1770

This was led by British soldiers. This was the act of British soldiers defending themselves against an angry colonist. This event happened when a colonist and british guard got into an argument and the guard struck the colonist. Many other colonists gathered around and began to torment the guard. Many soldiers came to the scene and fired 3 shots into the crowd. This killed 3 men instantly and 2 men died in the next few days. This event took place in Boston.

The Commitees of Correspondance was founded by Samuel Adams and James Warren. It was formed in Boston. The groups was formed to spread the news of British injustices. It was also for means of communicating actions against Great Britain.

Tea Act

This act was put in place by British Parliament. This allowed the British East Company to sell tea directly to the colonists. This took place in Boston. It was to reduce the tax on tea.

Boston Tea Party

This was led by colonists dressed as indians. They boarded the Britsih East Company ships and dumpesd 340 trunks of tea into the Boston Harbor. This happened when Thye British ships would not leave the Harbor after demand.This took place at the Boston Harbor in Boston

Intolerable Acts

These were put in place by the British Parliament. These were punishment for the Bostonian Colonists who took part in the Boston Tea Party. This punished all Boston colonists after the boston tea party had erupted.

First Continnental Congress

The colonist formed the First Continnental Congress. It was a convention of twelve colonies. This took place at Carpenter's Hall, Philadelphia. They needed a way to represent the colonists all together and find a way to stop the unfair taxes put on them by Britain.
