Non-Aggression Act
This is where Hitler and Stalin signed a temporary treaty, where they would not attack each other for some time. They also split Poland. -
Munich Pact
The Munich Pact permitted Germany the annexation of Czechoslovakia. -
WAAC
Gave women in Arkansas the chance to assist in war efforts and do jobs they never could do before. Women in the WAAC provided war efforts in a variety of roles. -
OSRD
The OSRD(Office of Scientific Research and Development) was created by FDR. This organization focused on radar and sonar to locate planes and submarines. They also worked on penicilin and pesticides. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor had a surprise attack by the Japanese. This was the deciding factor for the U.S. to join the war. -
Manhattan Project
The Manhattan Project was a secret and this is where the OSRD created an atomic bomb. Einstein wrote to FDR warning him that the Germans were attempting to develop such a weapon. -
Battle of Midway
The U.S. defeated the Japanese at Midway Atoll. This was only 6 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad started where the Nazi's tried to take Stalingrad. The Nazis failed to take control of Stalingrad. -
FDR death
On April 12, 1945 FDR passes away and Truman takes over as president. -
Hitler
Hitler commited suicide by gunshot and short after his wife did to by ingesting cyanide. -
Atomic bomb #1
The U.S. dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima to try and get the Japanese to surrender. -
Atomic Bomb #2
The U.S. dropped another atomic bomb on Japan but on Nagasaki and after this bomb Japan finally surrendered.
