Early 1100s Knight Armour

-cone shaped helmet with nose strip
-large kite shape shield
-cushioning woolen tunic

Knight armour change in Late 1100s

Helmet is dome shape with bigger nose plate
light surcoat to prevent the chainmailbelow from heating
knights have coat of arms to designate them
chainmail mittens and legs are covered in chainmail
shield is now smaller and more triangular

lighter helmets and iron shoes
plate armour is made of iron connected by metal rivets and leather straps
no use for shield
