Lincoln was elected as president. The south was very mad about this, and they decided to secede from the United States. He was threatend by many people, and usually had to travel in disguise. -

South Carolina finally secedes from the United States, and becomes the first of many states in the south that secede. -
Attack on Fort Sumter
South Carolina countinuously attacks Fort Sumter for 33 hours. They faught brother vs. brother, and in the end the american forces guarding the fort had to surrender.
