    It was a Colonial War that started in the 1750s and the war lasted for 7 years. It all started because of a Tax.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Pontiac's Rebellion
    Pontiac's Rebellion started because of a Confederacy of Native Americans. The Peoria Indians signed a treaty that they did not like. Many Indians were angry about it, Pontiac was murdered by one Peoria Indian while visiting Illinois. His death led to bitter warfare among the tribes, and the Peorias were nearly wiped out.

    The French and Indian War ENDED. It created a snowball effect with everything that happened after it.
  • Proclimation of 1763

    Proclimation of 1763
    The end of the French and Indian War in 1763 was a cause for great celebration in the colonies. They removed barriers and oped up new opportunities. The proclamation also established or defined four new colonies. The Proclamation line extended from the Atlantic coast at Quebec to the newly established border of West Florida. The British were arguing that the ouposts were bad and they did not like them. They were opposing the TAX.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act is granting certain stamp duties. Several Duties were granted. Seeking to provide some of the costs of garrisoning the colonies, Parliament required all legal documents, newspapers and pamphlets required to use stamped paper that there was a Tax on.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Parliment passed another modified verson of the molasses and sugar act. It was about to expire. Becaue of curruption they mostly evaded the taxes. They undercut the reason for a tax. "This act, and the Currency Act, set the stage for the revolt at the imposition of the Stamp Act."
  • Colonists response to the Stapm Act

    Colonists response to the Stapm Act
    They Reacted immediately by asserting the Stamp Act. They said that it was an attempt to raise money in the colonies without the approval of legislatures.
  • Declatory Act

    Parliment had finalized the Stamp Act Repeal, and they declare that they want to put a tax on the Colonies.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This was an act of MUTINY. They would punish people and desert them. They would do anything for the Army and their quarters.
  • Townshend Revenue Act (Townshend Duties)

    Townshend Revenue Act (Townshend Duties)
    Taxes were on tea, glass, lead, paper and paint to help pay for the administration of the colonies. It was named after Charles Townshend. Colonial assemblies condemned taxation without any representation.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    People were mad because the troops were in town, and they did not like their policies. A crowed harassed a group of soldiers that were guarding the Custom House. A soldier was hit by a snowball and knocked down. He discharged his musket, and it sparking a volley into the crowd and then 5 civilians were killed.
