  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The royal proclamation of 1763 was executed by by Kink George 3 on October 7th 1763. The proclamation line forbid Anglo-American colonists from settling on lands owned from the French following the French and Indian War. This act was also the first one to affect all thirteen colonies.
  • Sugar act of 1764

    Sugar act of 1764
    The new Sugar Act cut the responsibility of foreign molasses from 6 to 3 pence per gallon. The sugar act lowered the amount of tax colonists had to pay on molasses by half but increased the execution of the law. This made smuggling the molasses from non-British states way harder than it was before.

    This imposed a direct tax on the British colonies in America. This act made colonists pay taxes on every page of paper they used. It was approved by King George the 3rd.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act allowed royal troops to stay in houses or empty buildings if Barracks were not available. Where people were to provide food and shelter and get nothing back from it. This act also required: food, drink, quarters (lodging), fuel, and transportation to British forces stationed in their towns or villages..
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was a new series of taxed on the colonists. It included imports such as paper, tea, glass, lead, and paints. The colonists reaction to this was a riotous protest.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    A British mob attacked a British loyalist, they fired a gun at them, killing a boy. The purpose of the Boston Massacre was to try and make liberal and moderate people become radicals
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    When 342 chests of tea belonging to the British East India Company were thrown from ships into Boston Harbor by American patriots disguised as Indians. The attacked ships were American. If you were wondering the tea was Chinese not Indian, and a lot of it was green.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    Closed the port of Boston in 1774 until the price of dumped tea was recovered. Moved the capital of Massachusetts the official port of entry for the Massachusetts colony. The Boston Port Act closed the port of Boston so firmly, that the colonists could not bring hay from Charlestown to give to their starving horses.
  • Massachusetts Quartering Act

    This act was passed by the Parliament of Great Britain, to receive royal assent. Made all law officers subject to appoint by the royal governor. Also banned all town meetings that the royal governor didn't approve.
  • Quebec act

    Quebec act
    Granted government and religious freedom to Catholics. This act repealed the loyalty oath and reinstated French civil law in with British criminal law.
