    First of its kind in the whole of France, Carrefour's hypermarket is opened in the outskirt of Paris. Providing customers with a greater range of choice of products (spread over 2,500m² of sales area), lower prices and up to 400 parking spaces.

    Essential goods like flour, milk and pasta are sold in unbranded packages at remarkably low prices.

    Merging with its biggest competitor in the French market, the Carrefour Group becomes the second biggest retailer in the world, after Walmart.

    Despite the challenges issued by the COVID-19 pandemic, the aim of the company is still today, as stated in January 2018 "to become the world leader of the food transition" by 2022.
