Battle of Second Ypres
The Battle of Second Ypres was Canada's first major battle that takes place from April 22 to May 25, 1915. The Canadians division was outnumbered and they faced the first use of chlorine gas agents in warfare. A third of the force was killed, wounded, or captured, but even though the chlorine gas and the german soldiers were attacking the line but the Canadians kept them from breaking through, which gave the Canadians a great reputation for the rest of the war. -

The Newfoundland regiment went into battle at Beaumont Hamel as a part of the general British offensive on July 1, 1916. They made a grave miscalculation, the regiment attacked through the uncut barbed wire against heavy machine-gun fire and within the first thirty minutes, more than a third of the regiment was dead or missing. and another 386 were wounded. -

The battle of Vimy Ridge was a battle that took place from the 9 to 12 of April 1917. This battle took place on the western front and it was a huge territorial advancement in the war. It was an incredible win but there were many casualties and 10,600 Canadians were killed and wounded in the assault (Foot). -

The battle of Passchendaele took place from October 26 to November 10, 1917. This battle was brutal and there were many casualties. The Canadian forces won the battle and captured the objective but suffered 16,000 killed or wounded soldiers (war museum). -

The hundred days was a series of battles that take place from August 8 to November 11, 1918. In this battle, the Canadian soldiers played a big role in pushing back the germans soldiers to mons where the war was won.
